11 Tips For College Students

The Baker-In-Training Camp will be held July 26-30 from 9:00am-12:00pm. This camp is for ages: 6th-8th grade. Due to it’s popularity, Chef Greg Beachey will again be offering a special camp this summer for the aspiring baker. This program will focus on cookies, cakes, souffles, and everything in between!

He took some Pepto-Bismol. He had diarrhea and an upset stomach. He went to bed and when he woke in the morning he said he was feeling a little better. I asked him if he was going to be well enough to go. He said he was going and that he felt better. His dad took him to the career center to meet the bus. We were not to go just two teachers and six students.

If you are in Texas, or don’t mind moving there, you can apply on the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services website here. If you are still in college, and this is something you might want to do, it might be a great idea to get some volunteer experience first. You might try volunteering with Hospice or your local hospital.

Schedule about 25-30 hours a week to do your job search. This includes any job search activity you spend time on, including researching companies, looking at online job listings, and attending networking events.

But, does that mean it is a good time to pack your bags or sit on the beach all summer and just wait for things to improve? I bet you can guess my answer! NO WAY.

Wear lighter clothing. You can remove the sweaters and boots. Make sure you have a nice white blouse or shirt to wear under your blazer or dress jacket.

The “employed” buddies tend to mask their envy of you in newer cars and lunches they don’t have to cut into bite-sizes for their lunch-mates. They do have more “things” than you, except one very intangible object; time watching their children grow. This factor is probably the most underrated and precious commodity in the work world. Sure, some places have “on-site” childcare, but that’s still lacking compared to kickin’ it at home with your mini-me’s.

If you think you might change your mind or if you simply have no clue as to what major to choose, enroll in a college with a variety of solid programs of study. Doing so will ensure that you don’t have to change universities if you decide to change majors.
